Lancôme Amethyst Glam

I only wanted to see you underneath the purple rain. I could not stop thinking about the lyrics to Prince's "Purple Rain" while looking at these beautiful lilac and iris colors. I saw him sing that little ditty live and it was magical. While I certainly can't pull off a purple velvet suit, I'm all about the purple eyeshadow. These are some of my new favorites.

Lancôme's all-in-one 5 shadow palette in Amethyst Glam is pretty spectacular. Each color serves a purpose: highlighter, all over, lid, crease and liner. I have not used them all together or for their specific purposes. I blend haphazardly to create my own signature purple.

Lancôme claims an 8 hour wear time, I think maybe it's about half that if you've got an easy-does-it daytime look. If you go a little more heavy-handed you might be able to sneak an extra hour or two before it begins to fade. However, the fade-out looks just as fantastic as the bright pigment when you first layer it on. It's so easy to wear these colors, even if you aren't a huge purple fan, there is no risk of looking like a bruised mess (I have worn shadow before where people asked if I had a black eye... not good).

You can check out Amethyst Glam along with Lancôme's other amazing, summery color palette's here.

  1. This is from the website gemfix.com:

"The name amethyst is from the Greek 'amethystos' meaning 'not drunken' because the ancient Greeks believed drinking from an amethyst cup would prevent intoxication."

  2. One of the colors on this palate (which I LOVE) says "highlight".....where exactly do you think I should put that?

  3. I would actually LOVE. A step-by-step....and have been looking for a video...

  4. Oh my goodness! Impressive article dude! Thanks, However I am going through issues with your RSS.
I don't know the reason why I cannot subscribe to it. Is there anyone else having the same RSS problems? Anyone that knows the solution can you kindly respond? Thanks!!
